To Dream the Impossible Dream
But Look, Dreams do Come True!
We have some very exciting news here at the AAR Sanctuary!
Well yes we did dream, but LOOK, dreams do come true! It’s always seemed so far out of our reach, on the tough days when we felt like throwing the towel in, and boy there’s been a lot, we’ve dug our heels in, … we have been waiting for this for such a long … Long time, but finally yesterday the work started on building new stables, how exciting were we to see these machines driving on … wow we are so excited!
My, what a difference! Going from nothing, to clearly seeing the footprint of how it is going to be!
Sturdy fencing and strong gates, access roads, 2 massive storage containers (all important to keep some of those pests out!). Our little wooden house on the Prairie and concrete bases for further structures. Water connection is ready to go. The next big thing is the electricity. It felt awesome to see what has been achieved so far. This is an ongoing project and it is going to be very special all made possible from all your generous donations and help – we couldn’t have done it without you – THANK YOU!
The start of our dream
At the end of July 2018 work started on the entrance road to The Henrietta Sanctuary … the council gave us a time scale of 1 month to complete the road.
March 1st 2018 at 1pm AAR became the proud owners of 30.000 m2 of Land officially known as The Henrietta Sanctuary.
The Land situated in La Paca near Lorca is in a stunning area and is just perfect for all the animals needs. There is much ground work to be done, fencing, stables, water kennels, etc …. but Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither is AAR.
We have waited so long for this, but with your generosity we were able to purchase the land.
The previous owner Mrs Carol Padbury and her late husband Martin bought this land years ago with the intention of having an animal rescue center, Sadly Martin became poorly and their dream never materialised. I truly hope we will make Martin and Carol proud of what we will achieve in the near future.
So team AAR and all are wonderful supporters, let’s get to work, make this happen …. The Henrietta Sanctuary is no longer a dream ….. it’s a reality, we can and we will build The Henrietta Sanctuary.
